Bay of Pigs
April 17, 2011
April 17th 1961 – US trained Cuban exiles invaded Cuba during the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
Che’s image has become iconic but it makes me wonder if it stands for anything to people anymore. At what point is overuse of an image? At least as an artist, if you rip it off, you know it’s going to be instantly recognizable. With that thought, here are a few images we found with Che’s image on Flickr. Click each image to go to the original.
Above is Dolk’s, a stencil artist from Norway, interpretation of Che and it is definitely the most successful and creative version of Jim Fitzpatrick’s rendering of Alberto Korda’s (in)famous, much pirated 1960 image of Che Guevara.
