“Consumerscapes” opening tomorrow at the PhilaMOCA.
Hello all! I am curating a show at the PhilaMOCA called “Consumerscapes,” which pairs the work of Andrés Alvarez, a good friend of mine from Colombia, and Amy Orr, a local Philadelphia-based artist. Both artists utilize items that would normally be found in one’s trash or recycling bin- Andrés drip paints Scranton landscapes onto flattened cereal boxes, while Amy cuts up credit cards into small pieces to arrange them into spectacular mosaic compositions. The opening is tomorrow from 6:30 to 10:30pm- here is the FB event. Plus, if you haven’t been to the PhilaMOCA yet, which stands for “Mausoleum” (not Museum) of Contemporary Art, you should definitely check it out. It’s a great alternative space where artists and musicians can come together in one space, so stop by tomorrow evening for a taste! The gallery is located right off 12th and Spring Garden Streets… hope to see you there! 🙂
