Land’s End, Maine
August 30, 2011
As the summer wraps up, I’m getting in some last-minute trips to the beach. Land’s End is a small but beautiful rocky beach on Bailey Island. It’s a popular place for people to gather to watch the sunset, and the road there takes you through the islands where you can catch gorgeous views of the ocean and see lots of lobster boats at work. You’ll also go over the world’s only cribstone bridge, and the Giant Stairs, nearby are also a big draw. (Just a tip, if you do plan to do some hiking, it’s a banner year for poison ivy, so just be aware and stay on the paths!)
