The Art of the Woodcut Novel at AVA Gallery
October 4, 2011
This past weekend, I had the chance to see The Art of the Woodcut Novel curated by David A. Berona at AVA Gallery and Art Center in Lebanon, NH. The show highlights novels composed entirely of printed images (no words or text). The books are beautiful objects, and the individual woodcuts are elegant and intricate. The show piqued my interest in the woodcut novel as a medium. If you can’t make it to Lebanon to check it out, Berona has a book out, and the show will be traveling to Plymouth State University in October with plans for more locations forthcoming.
