The Fernstone Cabin.
February 11, 2012
Built in December 2010, the Fernstone Cabin is constructed from primarily local materials. All of the sheathing and trim came from a mill in Tamworth, New Hampshire, where the cabin is located. The roof is made of steel — a roof that will last one hundred years. The foam insulation offers a high R value for the amount used. It was constructed on an existing building site. The old structures were removed from the land prior to the building of the cabin.
