The Kazzrie Jaxen Quartet– Honoring jazz tradition with straight ahead swing and spontaneous improvisation, these four musicians strive to express the beauty of a melodic line, deriving collective inspiration from the musical philosophy of jazz greats Lennie Tristano and Sal Mosca and the wonderful creative music of Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Bud Powell, and Warne Marsh. Their musical offerings include standard tunes, jazz lines, and originals. This quartet’s unusual harmonic approach stretches the music in unique and complex directions, always in service to feeling. From Charley’s soulful sound, to Bill’s buoyant rhythms, to Don’s melodic pulsations, to Kazzrie’s adventurous excursions…this band loves to swing and take their listeners on a journey into the heart of improvisation.
